Bomb Story: Skulls are often used in our messaging to speak on the souls invested in The Hundreds. The best illustration of this was at the foot of The Hundreds Los Angeles, our first flagship on Rosewood Ave. On both sides of the front entrance, there were skeleton graves dedicated to Ben and Bobby. It wasn't as much a morbid thought as it was a metaphor for how much of our lives we poured into the brand.| Background Story: Horizontal stripes, especially of the yarn-dyed variety, are a staple of The Hundreds' collection. Earlier on, they were derived from the surf knits and beachgoer patterns that graced the backs of Californians in the 1980s. Examples include Hang Ten, OP, Quiksilver, and Gotcha. In the following decade, independent skate brands and rave companies capitalized on stripes across boxy, baggy tops. Whether they're fatter stripes across neighborhood-sanctioned Charlie Browns or pinstripes across suiting or a baseball jersey, The Hundreds' stripes speak to a spectrum of subcultures.
