Bomb Story: There are a few half-toned Adam Bombs in the Squad, but this was one of the first. The reprographic technique of half-toning has been popular throughout various generations of art, from the early screen-printing and lithographs of Warhol to the Photoshop edits of early-2000s streetwear. Half-toning was a convenient solution for many designers who were utilizing low-resolution online photographs to stretch across T-shirts. Instead of getting a pixelated result, a halftone filter broke a blurry photo into thousands of sharp, focused dots.| Background Story: The challenge was to design a new camouflage pattern using only one color. Typically, camos are broken up into multi-colored panels - was there a way to simplify the artwork down to its most base elements? We were able to retain the same identifiable shapes, but in order to distinguish them from each other, we used gradients like shadows or shading. Mission accomplished.
