Bomb Story: Much of The Hundreds' design inspiration pulls from '80s and '90s culture. The video games we played growing up employed 8-bit graphics, which had a maximum capacity of 256 colors. Soon after, the Sega Genesis and Turbo Grafx 16 consoles upped the graphics power to 16-bit, then 32-bit and so on. This one is an homage to the blocky pixel art that defined characters like Sonic the Hedgehog and Toejam & Earl. A throwback to simpler times and a reminder that while everything has changed, nothing has changed.| Background Story: Quite prescient, the Crowds pattern was designed years before the rallies, protests, and riots of the last couple years. Disenchanted by the ""slacktivist"" generation, we were hopeful for a new class of youth who were galvanized to fight for themselves and fight for others. Crowds are comprised of an uprising. It also refers back to The Hundreds itself, a name that stands for a community in movement.
