Bomb Story: As most artists can attest to, lined notebooks were used more for doodling and daydreaming than actual schoolwork. Over the decades, I'm sure many classroom pages looked like this for The Hundreds fans, an ink sketch (Bobby always preferred to draw with blue pens or Sharpies).| Background Story: Horizontal stripes, especially of the yarn-dyed variety, are a staple of The Hundreds' collection. Earlier on, they were derived from the surf knits and beachgoer patterns that graced the backs of Californians in the 1980s. Examples include Hang Ten, OP, Quiksilver, and Gotcha. In the following decade, independent skate brands and rave companies capitalized on stripes across boxy, baggy tops. Whether they're fatter stripes across neighborhood-sanctioned Charlie Browns or pinstripes across suiting or a baseball jersey, The Hundreds' stripes speak to a spectrum of subcultures.
