Bomb Story: There are a few half-toned Adam Bombs in the Squad, but this was one of the first. The reprographic technique of half-toning has been popular throughout various generations of art, from the early screen-printing and lithographs of Warhol to the Photoshop edits of early-2000s streetwear. Half-toning was a convenient solution for many designers who were utilizing low-resolution online photographs to stretch across T-shirts. Instead of getting a pixelated result, a halftone filter broke a blurry photo into thousands of sharp, focused dots.| Background Story: In 2014, The Hundreds Design team climbed into a van and hauled off on an inspiration road trip to New Mexico. We stayed in an isolated desert house and every night, watched the stars coagulate into constellations above Santa Fe. The local art scene, the food, and the ornate design all contributed to this idea of building a unique constellation pattern for our cut-n-sew pieces, ranging from button-up wovens to headwear.
