This 1887 Champagne was recently excavated out of a legendary wine cellar that collapsed back in the year 1900. Miraculously, a few bottles survived unscathed and have recently been unearthed for the very lucky few to taste. Made from a classic Champagne blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, this centuries old Champagne has aged surprisingly well in its undisturbed tomb. People who have had the pleasure of tasting this incredibly rare Champagne have described it as golden in colour from extended age, with subtle aromas of hazelnuts caramel and hints of umami flavours, the heaviness of age is balanced out by the surprisingly fresh acidity that has somehow remained after so many years.
