This 1979 Vin Jaune made from 100% Savagnin grapes from the Arbois-Pupillin region of Jura in France is a very rare find. Having spent 10 years in barrel under flor, 4 years longer than the traditional Vin Jaune process, and being from incredible low yielding, top quality vineyards, this wine has been an uncatchable unicorn for even the most well connected collector. Produced by early adopters of biodynamic farming, low-intervention and sulphur free winemaking this wine allows the grape and terroir to shine. Medium golden in colour with aromas of concentrated apricots, yellow apple, honeysuckle, crushed citrus zest, white pepper and a hint of warm pastry dough from extended lees contact.
