This 1945 Grand Vin Pomerol, Bordeaux made from 100% Merlot has been praised by the wine world since its release. After a late frost, many vineyards were damaged and yields were the lowest in Bordeaux history since the 1915 vintage. Luckily, the summer months were long and warm which helped the remaining fruit ripen perfectly and created an intensely aromatic and full wine. This wine has been described as having a nose of red pepper, dried fruits, blackberries, leather, tobacco, herbs and a touch of farmyard aromas. This wine drinks well with a lush mouthfeel, good acidity and a long finish. Sweetness: dry Acidity: medium-plus Tannin: medium Alcohol: medium Body: medium-plus
