A 1999 red wine blend made from 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Carménère from the Puente Alto area in the Maipo Valley wine region of Chile. This is the first vintage produced by this world renowned winery which is located in one of the best areas for Cabernet Sauvignon. Located 650m above sea level at the foot of the Andes Mountains the vast temperature range from day to night and the cooling breezes from the ocean in the mornings create the optimal conditions for intensely coloured, fully ripe yet high acid Cabernet Sauvignon which are then hand harvested and delicately extracted in the cellar. This wine is spent 18 months in oak barrels after fermentation giving it well rounded tannins and soft oak flavours of cedar, coffee and leather. This wine has aromas of boysenberries, black currants and a touch of dried herbs. This is an incredible representation of what high quality Cabernet Sauvignons can look like in the Maipo Valley.
