A 1992 skin contact white wine made from a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Riesling Italico from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Northern Italy. This wine was produced by the pioneer of the Italian natural wine scene. Believing in preserving the soils of the region and creating wines that speak of the terroir, this producer moved towards traditional techniques in the 1990s. Using only naturally occurring yeast and clay amphorae vessels that are buried in the soil, the grapes are macerated for 7 months before finishing in barrel. This wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered and speak more like a red wine than a white with complex flavours and a rounder mouth feel. This wine is deep amber in colour with aromas of rose, vanilla, caramel, dried figs and apricots. The finish is long and world changing.
