One of the most amazing musicians I have ever heard. Another one of my mother’s loves. His fearless self expression and boundless talent drew me to him. I remember his music taking me on an emotional rollercoaster. I loved “Purple Rain” the movie also, relating to the story line deeply; A young musician struggling to make it while dealing with an abusive household and a troubled romance. It was like I was him. His battle against the record labels for independence and quiet philanthropy work were a great inspiration of mine.
