Singapore Prime Minister's wife, , dressed in a loof from the collection "New Chinese Dress" to attend the 2014 APEC meeting. The collection “New Chinese Dress” adopts many traditional elements from Chinese culture and brings the past into the present. The combining of Chinese and Western styles of dress create a new beauty while celebrating the uniqueness of the individual styles. In respect to craftsmanship, Qingqing Wu opted to use tailoring methods from both Chinese and Western styles, making use of buckles and inlays. The color used is a traditional shade of Forbidden City red. The fabric is a jacquard made of traditional silk and Zhang satin.
