We aren’t entirely sure what is happening here, but the video seems to place us in the 1940s Atomic Era, at the end of World War II or during the Cold War. On one half of the screen, people go about their day. On the other half of the screen, there is some sort of cosmic-level event. The progression of both are inversely proportional, with a reversal occurring at the midpoint with an atomic bomb detonation. This video continues my experiment with synthesis/contrast of various dialectics, such as the cosmic and the personal, the extraordinary and the everyday, the time-bound and the timeless. I try to use dialectics and the metaphor of disasters and/or conflict to express psychological and emotional processes. Sound design by Barbara Chira, Misfits Studio.
