Created in December 2022, this work was as part of an art, science and visual learning project. It was my first ever AI video and was created before any text to video models such as Runway were accessible. Using a digital stop motion technique, I was able to animate my imagery. I fed each image through AI individually to create a slight iteration of the previous frame. The images were then stitched together in After Effects. Inspired by hypothetical evolutionary paths, the video delves into an exploration of DNA and biological anthropology. My initial focus on DNA derived from my realisation that DNA and artificial intelligence are connected – both contain instructions vital to producing a desired result. AI imagery and digital stop motion animation.
