The growth is organic at first, and it might be a little dirty, a little infected, before it explodes in size and popularity. Unfortunately, this growth results in homogeneity. Everyone makes the same art. The early days of punk spawned hundreds of forgettable bands. The early days of generative art are inspiring bulk production of waifus. Only after that pile crashes in on itself do we start to see rebuilding.
