Even if I’m a person who doesn’t like tacky art, I think Christmas is the only acceptable context in witch kitsch is allowed. I love the Christmas spirit and it undoubtedly goes along with all the cliches like the red/green/gold color palette, snow, candles, awful wrapping paper, Christmas trees, snow etc. For this project, I knew it would be important to refrain from my usual style and decided to go for a children’s drawing style, because that’s what I love about Christmas: it makes me feel exactly the same emotions which I had when I was a child, still, to this day.I also was happy to finally make use of a little melody I wrote many years ago and that I’ve been carrying around ever since without making any use of it; a melody that I always associated with Christmas but never actually recorded it. I’m glad that I did now and I am happy about the fact that it fits this video so well. Song by blumquist
