Florus Luminae, from Latin 'florus' (flower) and 'luminae' (light), is a luminous flowering plant with translucent, ruffled petals arranged radially and speckled with iridescent orange-yellow spots creating a sparkling effect in dim light. Its flowers emit a soft blue bioluminescent glow (450-495 nm) via photoproteins on petal surfaces. Supported by slender stems and ovate, glossy deep green leaves with pronounced venation, it thrives 30-50 cm high in tropical rainforest canopies at 15-25°C, adapted to gentle air currents. Within the Helios Petalate genus of ten bioluminescent species, Florus Luminae attracts nocturnal pollinators like moths and bats, enhancing pollination by signaling nectar availability in low light environments.
