Phosphoriflora Nebulis, named from Latin 'phosphorus' (light bearer) and 'nebula' (mist), is a rare bioluminescent species in the family Celestiflorae, genus Petaloid. It features a dense central cluster of narrow, elongated petals glowing blue (450-495 nm) via luciferin-luciferase pathways, surrounded by larger translucent, ribbon-like petaloid bracts arranged spirally. The slender, lanceolate leaves with fine venation grow on flexible, twisting stems exhibiting light-responsive swaying. Thriving in moist, shaded tropical rainforest understories (15-30°C), it reaches 15-30 cm tall. Its bioluminescence attracts nocturnal pollinators like moths and bats, facilitating cross-pollination, balancing adaptation to low-light habitats with a striking reproductive display.
