Luminoflora Aurealis ('light-bearing flower of the golden dawn') is a delicate, bioluminescent plant of family Phantasmae, genus Notani. It features translucent, ruffled petals arranged radially around a central reproductive column, with punctate luminescent glands emitting a soft golden glow (420-490 nm blue-green spectrum). Elliptical leaves show reticulate venation supporting bioluminescence. Slender, wiry stems enable gentle swaying in tropical rainforest understories. It grows 15-30 cm tall, weighs 5-25 g, and thrives in humid, shaded environments at 15-25°C. L. Aurealis attracts nocturnal moths and beetles for cross-pollination via numerous concentric stamens and a central pistil. Among 20 species in its cluster, it’s vulnerable due to habitat loss. Bioluminescence likely involves luciferin oxidation in epidermal cells, aiding reproductive success in dim light.
