Lumina Floris, named from Latin for light and flower, is a rare bioluminescent plant of the Helios Petalate cluster. It grows 15-30 cm tall with translucent petals featuring undulate margins, intricate venation, and radial symmetry. Flowers have multiple stamens around a central pistil. Petals show deep reddish-purple hues with iridescent scales, emitting a blue-green glow (420-490 nm) via luciferin-luciferase reactions in epidermal and vascular tissues. Adapted to tropical rainforest understories at 15-25°C, it sways gently to aid pollen dispersal. Weighing 0-15 g, it supports nocturnal pollination by attracting crepuscular and night-active insects with its luminescence and fragrance, playing a key ecological role. Taxonomically, it belongs to a bioluminescent family with specialized floral morphologies.
