Radiantum Florae Phosphorosa, a rare bioluminescent plant in the Nereid Petalus cluster, features translucent petals with undulating margins and fine venation, transitioning from cool blue bases to amber tips with orange phosphorescent speckles. Its compact reproductive structures display curling anthers and stigmas. The slender stem supports 5-7 flowers with faint foliage, adapted to shaded tropical rainforest understories at 15-30°C and 15-30 cm height. Bioluminescence, emitting soft blue-green light (450-495nm) from luciferin-luciferase in epidermal cells, highlights petals and reproductive organs, enhancing nocturnal pollinator attraction. It occupies a niche facilitating pollination by night-active insects and small bats. Taxonomically, it belongs to a 20-species family noted for glowing petals and gentle movement, playing a crucial role in understory biodiversity and nocturnal pollination.
