Luminflora Noctiluca, from Latin 'lumen' (light) and 'noctiluca' (night light), is a rare, stable species within the Phantasmae Notani cluster, notable for its ethereal blue-green bioluminescence (470–530 nm). It inhabits tropical rainforest understories at 10–30 cm height, with slender translucent stems supporting broad ovate leaves with pronounced venation. Its inflorescence features dense, globular flower heads with clustered florets and petals textured with luminescent glands. Bioluminescence involves luciferin-like compounds in petals and leaves, emitting light nocturnally to attract moths and crepuscular pollinators during its swaying movement. Within a family of 20 related species, it thrives at 10–25 °C, weighs 15–50 g, and plays a key role in nocturnal pollination and rainforest biodiversity.
