Its fruiting bodies feature undulating caps 10-25 cm tall with deeply ridged gills emitting vivid blue luminescence (420-490 nm). Caps exhibit translucent orange and magenta pigments contrasting glowing blue margins, supported by a thick stipe showing light-responsive undulation. Found on tropical forest floors at 10-20°C, it thrives on decomposing leaf litter. Taxonomically in Agaricales, it likely represents a novel genus distinguished by chromatic bioluminescence from a luciferin-luciferase system. The glow attracts nocturnal insects, aiding spore dispersal. Its extensive mycelium decomposes organic matter, playing a vital saprotrophic role in nutrient recycling and ecosystem health.
