Astralis Lumispetal, from Latin 'astralis' (of the stars) and 'lumispetal' (light-bearing petals), is a bioluminescent flowering plant endemic to tropical rainforest canopies. It features clusters of trumpet-shaped flowers with ruffled, semi-translucent petals displaying vibrant blue fluorescence and radiant orange luminescent centers, emitting 420-490 nm blue-green light via specialized photoprotein tissues. Narrow lanceolate leaves alternate on slender stems that undulate with air currents to aid light dispersal. Standing 30-50 cm tall, weighing 15-50 g, it thrives at 20-30°C in humid canopies. Taxonomically, it belongs to the Noctiflorae Phantasm genus within an unresolved bioluminescent angiosperm family. Luminescence attracts nocturnal moths and bats, supporting reproduction and nocturnal pollination networks, contributing to canopy biodiversity in tropical ecosystems.
