Luminifloris Crepusculum, meaning 'light-bearing flower of twilight,' is a rare bioluminescent aquatic plant in the family Luminous Petalaceae. It grows 10-25 cm tall, weighing 150-300 g, with translucent, undulating petals in blue to violet hues speckled with orange. Petals cluster into coral-like formations on a semi-rigid, sinewy stem adapted for aquatic movement, enhancing bioluminescence. Emitting blue light (420-490 nm) from photogenic petal cells via luciferin-like enzymatic reactions, it inhabits deep ocean reefs at 20-30°C. As one of 20 genus species, it relies on nocturnal marine invertebrate pollinators. Its ecology supports reef biodiversity and bioluminescent dynamics, warranting protected status due to niche sensitivity.
