Luminorae Florae, named from Latin lumin (light) and florae (plant life), is a rare bioluminescent flowering species endemic to tropical rainforest canopies. It has spirally arranged rosettes of translucent, ruffled petals with granulated glands. Petal coloration shifts from deep blue bases to amber edges, enhanced by luminescent nodules emitting blue-green light (420-490 nm) via luciferin-luciferase enzyme complexes in epidermal and glandular cells. Thriving in 15-30°C, it grows 30-50 cm tall and weighs 15-50 g. Part of the Noctiluca Arboreal cluster, it occupies a niche attracting nocturnal pollinators through light and scent. Semi-succulent leaves and flexible stems enable gentle movement, aiding pollination while minimizing damage.
