Its radial inflorescence features translucent petals with undulating margins and minute droplets enhancing a bluish-violet gradient with pink luminescent speckles. Central coral-colored stamens and pistils contrast vividly. The delicate yet sturdy stem supports gentle sway in tropical rainforest understories. Bioluminescence arises in specialized petal and reproductive cells emitting 470-530 nm blue-green light via luciferin oxidation. Endemic to humid shaded forests at 15-25°C, it attracts nocturnal pollinators like moths and beetles, aiding cross-pollination. Belonging to genus Luminiflora within the endangered Phantasmal Florale cluster of five species, its lightweight structure (0-15g) supports quasi-floating and moisture capture.
