Pt. 2 of 3 of a San Francisco after dark series. This was this first time I did physical location scouting with an augmented reality app. I spent much of day the prior to this full lunar eclipse trying to figure out where would be the best place to capture it. I wasn’t having any luck. Turns out that my app hadn’t been calibrated but I didn’t know that at the time. I had a “backup plan” but was not thrilled about it. Fortunately, a friend of mine (Nate) alerted me that the first place I was scouting would be THE location for the shot I had envisioned. At 3:30am or so I met with Nate, and we waited. We waited for an hour plus, for that 3 point shot to go in! We bit our nails as the moon turned red and traveled the sky until.. Swish. Nothing but Net!
