My "Opening" aerial photograph via helicopter, made in 2017 features the iconic Dodger Stadium with a foggy downtown Los Angeles in the background. On this June morning the pilot and I took off from an airport in the San Fernando Valley where the skies were clear. Once we cleared the Hollywood Hills we could see that the whole city had been blanketed in this fog. Fortunate for us as the sun rose more and more it started to break up the fog in patches allowing me to make photos. By the time I had gotten to Dodger stadium what I was presented with was a textured Los Angeles. Having grown up here and been doing aerial photography for 7 years this was a rare site. I used a digital medium format camera to capture the depth and scale of the setting. Just being happy to be able to do this amazing city justice. I am happy to be offering this photo here as a 1/1.
