This is my largest watercolour painting and is one of the few in my hyperrealism collection. I wanted to further investigate the idea of manipulating the human anatomy, but wanted to explore this through a different colour pallet. By using blue corn syrup in the photography section of the process, I found this colour amplified a feeling of serene depth and power. This was reinforced by the gold-leaf I added to evoke a sense of regality. Once I began painting, I felt the art held weight and presence. The combination of colour, expression and size creates a large impact that I want to translate to my audience. I hope my art can be a vehicle where you feel compelled to lean into your divine power also.
