
Roses en Normandie (2018) Video loop, no sound Prose Poem (2021) While walking along the beach of Normandy, you find three roses perpendicular in the sand. Grasping at the wind, fragile stems strong enough to stand upright, blossom buds looking straight out to sea. Who put them there? Some gentle stranger? Did they land there on their feed from a rose-cloud by their own volition? You watch the roses dance in their own pas de trois, the breathing wind and crashing waves the score. What do you do now? Lift the stems from the wet sand’s embrace and carry them back to your lover? Take them home and fold them in a book, forget about them, and then, years later, find them dried and dusty? Toss them out to the waves like seaweed? Or watch silently for several moments, then continue your walk towards the lighthouse…
