I almost missed taking this photograph. My twin four-year old girls were sleeping in the back seat of the car as i drove past... i witnessed this moment in my purview, drove past with contemplation, turned around, and ran down the highway to take the photo. Photographic moments are a gift. They come and go, in a matter of minutes, sometimes seconds. I succumbed to this moment, and I am thankful. This photo represents a time and place in my community that will never exist again. The month of May, a soft palette sunset, spring ice melting, and the the first boat on Georgian Bay. A heavenly sunset, a lone explorer, a place to start.
