Look closely at the graffiti on the first pier support. Can you read what it says? When I noticed the graffiti says “Ether” I knew it was meant to be minted on the Ethereum block chain. I had been wanting to capture the Milky Way at the old Davenport Pier in California ever since I shot sunset there in early 2019 and noticed that it would align perfectly with the core of Milky Way. Finally, in October 2020, I captured this. October is the very end of the Milky Way season in the Northern hemisphere and thank goodness I captured it because during the winter of 2020 - 2021 the third support fell. If I had missed it that October I would not have ever been able to get this shot! I named this “Into the Ether” because it applies on so many levels. This image will live forever in the Ethereum blockchain. The third support disappeared into the ether. The pier is leading into the ethereal Milkyway Galaxy. There are so many ways you can interpret this. I hope it encourages you to dream.
