This is the image that started it all. Day 1 of my first expedition. A yearning to escape city life and pursue the passion within me. 4 years in the making. Touchdown. A beautifully calm morning. I set off into the untold before the winds started to pick up, blowing the recent snow fall from the ground. As the biting winds grew stronger still, the snow storm intensified and the visibility worsened. A frozen ocean appeared before me, waves of glistening ice rolling in the distance. The power of Mother Nature is a humbling experience. A snap of the shutter immortalised the moment, capturing my emotions through the medium of photography. Representing escapism in its purest form; a voyage into the unknown, full of fear, vulnerability and uncertainty but also hope, excitement and adventure.
