A soaking wet summer's day. The kind where your raincoat could do with a raincoat. Situated in Berchtesgaden National Park (Germany) and only accessible by ferry, this rustic boathouse fits perfectly amongst the mountains, almost asking to have its picture taken. In between wiping my lens dry and sheltering from bursts of rain, I was lucky enough to photograph it with these eerie conditions. Being a lover of minimal compositions, I was immediately captivated by its front-on view. The isolated wooden structure, sodden but standing strong in the storm. Whilst at the lake, a low cloud was snaking slowly along the mountain face. With a life of its own. I felt like I'd won the lottery at this point. All the elements were aligning for me. It made for one of the most memorable scenes I have come across in my travels.
