My inspiration for this piece was Goddess Athena from Greek mythology. Athena was said to be the wisest, most courageous, and she was said to be fond of the most courageous youths and heroes. This Orb was her to a hero and the kingdom he belonged to. The orb represents the brain and the pattern, its cells.
