"Because if the universe is a heartbeat, how many millions of times has it pulsed?" 'The Universe Is' began as a journal entry, morphed into a spoken word poem, inspired a watercolor painting, and finally amalgamated into this animated multi-media piece. It took its own sweet time to take this final form--about five years--and was inspired by the age-old philosophical question: Where the hell are we and what are we doing here?
