It was freezing cold and I was standing with my tripod in 40º water. It was forecast and slightly rainy which made the location optimal for a great shot. I spent an hour waiting as the clouds overhead played a kaleidoscope of shadows over the rocks and river. As the sky began to turn black I placed a neutral density filter over my lens to hold back a bit more light. I knew this was going to be my shot after weeks of patience my time was due.
