This photo came into existence from a failed attempt at sunrise. Although the sunrise plans were ruined, I ended up driving somewhere else along the coast and spotted this river delta from the road. The way the river flows through the black sand in this particular spot and how it's lined by snow makes this one of my favorite photos I've ever taken – and it would've never happened if I didn't explore this coast that morning.
