
Osteoclasts are the cells responsible for the formation of our bones. The structure of our bodies depends on the continual deposition and reabsorption of minerals to give our bodies the structure and protection required to move and thrive in a fast-paced world. Other elements are responsible for the delicate creation of rock on this earth. Over millions of years, rock is organized and broken down into outstanding formations such as these, giving necessary structure to landscapes. These particular formations were frozen in time after a theorized mudslide and burial, entombing these veins and waves of rock in a sandy sepulcher. Years of erosion lead to the exposure of these remains, allowing us to appreciate their intricate designs. A microscopic view of bones truly demonstrates the similarities we have to our earth. We are both dependent on such impressive feats of architecture.
