Being a city-dweller, encountering wild life is a rare occurrence for me. I've seen bears, goats and even foxes before in Banff National Park in my past visits, but I've never encountered an elk. I've always thought elks were magical beings because of their large and beautiful antlers. I visited Banff again in the summer of 2020, and for the majority of our stay there we didn't see an elk - until our last day. On our way to Jasper, I spotted this beautiful creature on the side of the road. I immediately pulled over. At first glance, I was shocked in awe. This elk had a warm energy that I instantly felt. I took my camera and immediately snapped this photo. It felt magic. I brought this feeling back home with me to Toronto to remind me that nature speaks to us through these magical beasts. This NFT is my genesis piece and I want to pay respects and tribute to this magical beast. 15% of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to conservation efforts by Parks Canada.
