“Rocket Ship Ice Leaf” is part of my series “World of Ice” Winters in many parts of North America can be cold and gloomy. To combat the urge to become a couch potato, I wonder the ponds, lakes, marshlands, creeks and rivers to find Nature’s ice gems to photograph. On Lake MacBride in Eastern Iowa, dark ice had formed over the course of days of below-zero temps. A small snow storm left its remnants on the ice, giving this leaf the appearance of rocket dust zooming it to other parts of the universe. Nature’s art…our gift! 4800 x 7200 JPG – Other formats available to first owner such as TIFF or PNG - first owner also receives a signed 20x30 metallic print with hanging hardware
