After a cramped night in the back of my RAV4 I woke to this magical sunrise from valley view. With water temperatures in the high 30 degree range I quickly planted my tripod, set my composition and captured this frame just in time to pull my feet out and thaw out a bit. Little did I know that 30 minutes after this photo was taken a baby bear would swim across the river bed right before my eyes. Yosemite is a place that I am always inspired by because it was here that I really gained an appreciation for the outdoors and capturing the beauty around us. Even though it's been a few years since I last visited, images like this remind me of the first time driving through the tunnel with my wife and being awestruck by the surreal feeling of entering the deep California canyons and forests.
