This photo changed my life in a lot of ways. After buying a van and going on my first trip I was able to have the freedom to spend long amounts of time in one location for the proper weather conditions. After driving past this motel I could visualize what it would look like with fog and how it was crucial to get the atmosphere I needed. After two weeks of camping in a mall parking lot and asking locals that came into the diner when fog usually comes in from the coast. I had to throw in the towel and move onward with my travels because I had been in this location for too long. On the night I left I went to the next town and saw fog had rolled in... I was so excited and popped a u-turn and went back to the motel and sure enough the conditions were perfect. A man came outside his door and went and got a coke. Later that week I posted this image along with a few others and it went viral starting my photography career and got me to where I am currently. To this day this photo means so much.
