The idea of purgatory as a cleansing condition, a preparation of the soul for eternal salvation by way of punishment or even fire, is enshrined in the mythologies and doctrines of religions and spiritual belief systems throughout history. In this piece I depict purgatory as a limbo between heaven and hell, and also a metaphorical choice. Original digital abstract, 2021. Edition of one.
