Our minds started replacing real objects with their digital copies. In this project I try to depict the experience of digitization. While the pictures look like abstract paintings, in reality they’re shots of everyday objects that were projected onto a tablet, then photographed with a camera; the process was repeated 8 times, turning the original object into its digital shade, its simulacrum, a reflection of the world that awaits us. _ The photos are visually divided in two; the contrast of light and dark helps us live through the experience of the Earth and the sky, while the blue shade adds water into the picture. The name of the artwork is a reference to the famous photograph by Andreas Gursky, Rhein II, and it depicts the change that Rhein goes through during the current events in our world. There's a shy rainbow in the corner of the first picture; it's a promise for the light and continuation. The mirage of the second one is more like a search for the promised land, an adventure.
