But as soon as he lets one off the leash, the others fill the space with barking. The collar needles dig into the neck and respond with unbearable pain along the body of furious, salivating dogs. He knows that by loosening the chains of his fears and desires, he risks losing control. But while he lets only one dog go for a walk, he is calm - he can cope with them.
