Video projection mapping on a collapsed electrical tower in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. Summerland Key, Florida. // In 2017, the eye of Hurricane Irma rolled right over where I was living in the Florida Keys decimating the surrounding area. I learned that following a major storm the attention of the news media and general public moves on quickly while the people on the ground work to rebuild their lives for months and years to come. I started video mapping the destruction in my neighborhood and posting the images on social media to help keep the recovery process in the public consciousness and I sold prints of the photographs to raise money for local charities. // This project was covered by the Miami New Times and WNYC (NPR in New York City). It was exhibited at the Spring Break Art Fair and the headquarters of the World Bank (DC) in The Art of Resilience.
