When something like a doll is soft you are aware it is a doll. When it has two ceramic black shoes and hands there is a weight that makes holding it seem like more of a responsibility. This is in part because weight might denote quality I suppose, though this doll was not of high quality at all. The weight of its ceramic elements would mean that it would sit forward on a shelf. It would often pull forward by itself, which frightened me. Memory 006 of 024 (Collection 401)
