My inspiration for the girl in this piece is Heidi, from a classic children’s novel by Swiss writer Johanna Spyri, published in two volumes in 1880-81. The title character is a young orphan who is sent to the Swiss mountains to live with her grandfather. This digital artwork combines Heidi with a drop of psychedelic influence, a trippy approach and adjustments to fit the stereotype of a new age spirituality.
